A Florist's Work Uniform
When I’m dressing for early morning market runs, chilly production days in the studio, work from home days, and long days on-site at event installs, it’s all about dressing for absolute comfort. But I also want to feel and look nice.
And as a real life wedding and event florist just wanting to share what actually works, I’m a big believer in wearing the same favorite things on repeat.
So here are my go-to ‘uniform’ pieces, the things I reach for again and again. They feel like loungewear, but still come off as elevated and polished.
If this makes getting dressed in the morning even a tiny bit easier, mission accomplished!
My Go-To Florist Wardrobe Pieces
What I Wear to Work as a Florist: Studio & Event Day Workwear Essentials
Comfy barrels that aren’t jeans - I have a love-hate relationship with denim, so I am obsessed with any of Nili Lotan’s pants that are an alternative, like these corduroys and these cotton twills. SO SOFT. I’m a short girlie, so I have all of my pants tailored to fit just right — highly recommend if you’re not model proportions (who is!?)
A sturdy tank - I like tops with a little bit of weight to them, and this one in luxe ribbed cotton does the job. So much so that I have it in several colors.
My go-to tees - I love anything by Kule, and this Uniqlo tee is a great, affordable option for someone who is constantly staining their tops… ugh!
Matching sets - When the alarm is going off at 4:30AM, having a comfy-cute set on hand is the name of the game. So many options in a neutral palette like this and this.
A black carry-all bag - Here’s a recent investment that is gorgeous, and a great (washable) alternative here. For days I’m traveling lighter, I’m all about the fanny pack.
Comfiest loafers - I can put in 20k steps in these babies with not an inkling of a blister. And these are always a go-to as well.
An elevated combat boot - I’m no stranger to wearing these combat boots with a dress for that florist-on-duty look. Took a minute to wear these in, but they’ll last a lifetime.
Sandals because I’m risky - I know I know, open-toed shoes on the job are a no no. But I can’t help myself. These are too easy and comfy.
